Hank's baptism- July (yes, JULY!!!) 2011

I'm a terrible blogger. I admit it. But at least I can say that I'm a good mommy and I've been busy over the past seven months since I last posted taking care of my two kiddos. There's no way to adequately summarize these lost months so I'm just going to pick up with current events and try to do a better job keeping up with it- since the blog is supposed to serve as a baby book for both of my kids.

My parents (a.k.a. Nana & Papa) were in town for the last week and we enjoyed lots of fun times with them. We finally made arrangements to have Hank baptized since they and Matthew's parents (a.k.a. Pop Pop & Dee Dee) were all in the same state on the same weekend- a rare occurrence indeed!

I'd love to tell you that my son was an angelic little cherub for the ceremony, but that couldn't be further from the truth! He was AWFUL!! My dad video taped the whole mortifying event and I'll post it for your enjoyment as soon as he sends it to me. After three attempts at smacking me in the face, multiple head-butts, several ear splitting screeches and way too many freakishly high pitched screams the public humiliation was over and we were able to whisk the kids out of the church and into their respective Sunday school classes. **Insert huge sigh of relief here!**

At one point in the ceremony the pastor asks us: "What is the Christian name of this child?" We reply: "Henry Nicholas." In hind sight I'm thinking we should have gone with Lucifer or Beelzebub as they would have been much more believable!

Oh well, at least it will be memorable for us all! Here's a few photos taken that day.

Before the service- Hank looks tired, but still pretty angelic.

I baked a rhubarb cheesecake for the baptism luncheon. It was my first attempt at a homemade cheesecake so we felt like it deserved some recognition- if for no other reason than I got it out of the springform pan in one piece and it's not sliding off the cake plate!
